Torrington Target:
Now offers Fresh Grocery
IF you happen to drop by your local Target on the way home from work, you will now be able to grab something fresh for dinner.
While Target has carried snack foods like potato chips and soft drinks for years, the company has expanded to include fresh groceries like steak, chicken, eggs and apples. Target stores nationwide have been reformatted to include the new food layout, and the company expects to add the arrangement to additional stores at the rate of about 400 a year. {Website}{Coupons}{Weekly Ad}

The Downtown Experience is one of the great things our city has to offer is... the slice of small town values that exists downtown. A place where you may know a merchant as a friend and gather with neighbors just for the sake of being together.

Local Stores - Closed Doors!
It is always sad to see your favorite place of business closing its doors for the last time. The Torrington community will miss these merchants as much as it will embrace those that replace them. But, if you are considering this as a sign of failure -- it is also important to understand these businesses are closing for various reasons -- that it wasn’t Torrington or just a bad economy. This may just be the natural flow of things in a city as large as our own. But, it is also a sign that our community needs to support our local businesses for them to survive.
