Tragically, vandals, on Halloween night, destroyed or stole a number of homeless dwellings as well as spray painting their cloths, stealing flashlights and stomping on stoves, cookware and personal possessions (it looked like a war zone). Leaving many of the homeless in Torrington without even a basic shelter from the cold.
We are asking anyone that has a tent to spare to please contact me as soon as possible. Temporary shelter for the victims is only available till Monday -- we need at least 12 tents to replace those that were completely destroyed.

Lisa Hageman of the Torrington Soup kitchen will coordinate distribution of tents on Monday. Please do not bring donations directly to Kitchen. They are currently closed for repairs on the building and meals are being served elsewhere.
Please let the spirit of the coming holidays guide your generosity and open your heart. Your donation could save the life of someone in our community.
